Armageddon’s last gasp!

As the saying goes, ”’Armageddon’ tired of hearing about Armageddon!”  Doomsayers and apocalypse prophets need not apply for a place in the new energies that have come to the planet. All the seers and doom-and-gloom prophets of the past, whether they be Nostradamus, Jeanne Dixon, Edgar Cayce, or St. John in the Book of Revelations in the Bible, dealt in the old energies of the planet brought forth by the limited spiritual development of the humans who lived upon her.

The old energies spoke of “an eye for an eye” and “might makes right”. The old energies celebrated the survival of the fittest and the elimination of those who were not able to survive on their own. The old energies held that we are not responsible for the state of others and that those who oppose us in thought, word, or deed deserve to be firmly dealt with in whatever way is deemed best by those in charge. The old energies led to repression, control of the masses, the Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, apartheid, and the destruction of 6 million Jews, Catholics, Gypsies, and others in the WWII Holocaust. The old energies fueled mankind’s greed, ego, and lust for power at any cost. The old energies resulted in man’s bringing this planet and the inhabitants to the brink of total destruction through the destruction and pollution of the Earth’s resources and the very real possibility of global thermonuclear war.

The express train that modern society boarded that was headed for total annihilation of the planet and the civilizations thereon slowed and nearly came to a stop in the 1960’s. Remember hippies and flower children? Remember the “make love, not war” signs and buttons and the flowers placed in the rifle barrels of the National Guardsmen sent for riot control? Remember the protests against war of the 60’s and 70’s and the phrase “war is not good for children and other living things”?

Those days and the spreading spiritual call for peace in our time slowed the train bound for destruction and gave earth’s inhabitants the option of choosing another future, another set of possibilities for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren to come. The Harmonic Convergence in 1987, though it was ridiculed as another airy-fairy New Age event, was actually an event coordinated by Spirit and the Universe to allow the inhabitants of Earth to make a decision that would forever change the future of the planet and mankind in general. The decision made was arrived at by those involved to ask for new energies and a better way of life for the planet and those who share its bounties. We asked for the changes and rejoiced in the knowledge that we could and would rise above the old energies that divided us. We embraced the inner knowing that the new energies would unite us and bring the realization to all that we are all one family. We also accepted the consequences of those changes that would bring this realization to the minds, hearts, and souls of all those living here.

In 1989, the new energies began to be felt on the planet as the old energies were transmuted from those of fear, discord and despair to those of love, cooperation, and hope. Slowly, the changes began. The old Soviet Union disbanded and relinquished their repressive hold on millions of people. The Berlin Wall, symbol of all that divided us from one another, came down with a flourish and a planetary celebration of joy. Through the years, we have witnessed the many signs of the new energies: Nelson Mandela’s release from prison and the ending of apartheid, the rebellion in Tiennamon Square in Bejing and the courageous man who stared down the barrel of a tank in protest of the savage military response. We have seen the planet pull together to help those in need as tons of food and medical supplies were sent to the thousands of people in Africa caught in the drought and political conditions leading to mass starvation.

“If the new energies are here,” you might ask, “then why are there still so many problems and disasters? Where were the new energies on September 11, 2001?”

I stated earlier that we accepted the consequences of requesting and allowing the new energies to come in. Part of that was the 9-11 event. Please bear with me a moment while I explain my thoughts about this. I truly feel within my heart and soul that we, as spiritual beings having a human experience, choose the time and method of our transition to spirit, which is our true home. This is done on a sub-conscious level, not a conscious one. In the case of large groups of people who make their transition together, there are underlying reasons for the group being together. It may be one of balancing karma or, in the case of 9-11, the opportunity to achieve something unique. Please look past the tragedy, the pain of the families and friends, and the sadness that still lingers and consider the other things that resulted.

This event was totally unique, not only to the United States, but to the planet. It took the lives of many who were not Americans and because the companies involved were such a part of the international community, touched people spread across the globe. This attack on the WTC was not an attack on America, but an attack against the very fiber that holds the people of this planet together. It was an attack against the unity of all people and those who planned and executed it foolishly believed that the destruction would so devastate the world, that we, as people, would cry and mourn and be lost in the sadness and despair to follow. Although we experienced sadness, we reacted in ways that were not expected by Bin Laden and his followers.
Instead of falling apart, we united together. Instead of the other countries of the world pulling away to let us handle it on our own, the rest of the world embraced us, shared our pain, and vowed to make sure this kind of thing would not happen again. America opened its heart and sent goods, medical supplies, and money to New York, as did many others in the world. Politically, America brought the world together in condemning the action and calling for a swift “correction” of the problem.

The call for revenge was not the impetus for this action. Rather, the leaders and the citizens of the world recognized the need to respond in terms of prevention. For the first time, the governments and people of the world took a stand against the behavior of terrorism and wanton destruction. At the heart of all is the intrinsic knowledge and belief that there is an appropriate way for a person to act as a human being and as a citizen of Earth. What occurred on 9-11 was recognized as the epitome of inappropriate behavior. We are in a time now of coming to a consensus of what appropriate behavior entails. Those who sacrificed their lives in the events of 9-11 gave us a great gift, the gift of the opportunity for a new beginning and the realization that we are all our brother and sister’s keepers.

This is not to say that all is sunshine and roses in the rest of the world, for we all know that is not the case. There is still great unrest in the Middle East, starvation and genocide in Africa, and tribal fighting for the upper hand in many other areas.

The new energies are still in the process of being permanently anchored in the magnetic energy grid of the planet, a process that we have been assured will be completed at the end of 2002. Next year, 2003, will be the year of change, the year in which the old energies may have a last gasp and fight even more fiercely to remain. What will come, we cannot see, but this I know for sure. There will be no Armageddon, no final and total destruction of the planet and those who live upon it. The old energies that called for violence, revenge and intolerance for those of differing religions and opinions are no longer in power. The new energies of love, compassion, cooperation, and peace and abundance for all are the new realities.

What can we as individuals do to assist the new energies and assure that the threat of Armageddon is a thing of the past? That is very simple. Just by living each moment in the joy of Spirit, the peace of love, and the compassion of one brother/sister for another. We can turn the remaining of the old energies of hatred and intolerance to the new.

We cannot solve the problems of Africa and the Middle East as individuals. But by joining with our fellow world citizens, we can bridge the gaps of ignorance and indifference, exchanging apathy for involvement and disdain for encouragement and support.

There are specific things that we can do as individuals to further the cause of peace in the world and help usher in the new energies. We can hold the image of peace and cooperation in our hearts and minds. We can vividly visualize a peaceful planet with no conflicts, no wars, no famine or disease. We can visualize a world where every child is loved and wanted, every adult is free from oppression and lack of basic needs, and where the elderly are respected for their wisdom and cared for as the valuable part of the rich history of the planet that they are indeed.

We do not have to have all the answers to every problem. Indeed, we should carry only the knowledge of the results in our hearts and minds. It is not our place to know the details of how this will be accomplished. It is enough to know that it will be so and that Spirit/God/Universe has a plan and has allowed for every possibility. So let us see freely the view of an Earth free from conflict and strife, free from famine and disease, where only love, compassion, cooperation, and true unity exists between all people.
The concept of Armageddon, a final battle leading to total destruction, is a thing of the past. We, as a species, as the human race, have spiritually developed beyond that concept. We can now rise above the past and embrace the life of joy, abundance, and harmony that God has always intended us to have. As above, so below. And so it is!
